Tourism in Madagascar — Anglais Terminale OSE
In English class, learning to talk about tourism helps you present your own country to visitors. Madagascar is famous for its lemurs, baobabs and beaches, so being able to describe these attractions clearly is a real skill. In this sample, we focus on one key point: how to describe a place using the present simple.
Ravo, a young guide from Antananarivo, tells a tourist: "Madagascar has a unique wildlife. Andasibe National Park protects the indri, the biggest lemur. Many visitors come here every year and spend their Ariary in local villages." (Notice the -s on has, protects, comes.)
À retenir
- Pour décrire un lieu touristique, on emploie le présent simple : The island offers..., Tourists enjoy...
- À la 3e personne du singulier (he/she/it), on ajoute -s au verbe : it attracts, the beach welcomes.
- Vocabulaire clé : wildlife (faune), landscape (paysage), visitor (visiteur), income (revenu), to attract (attirer).
