Talking about the environment in English is very useful, especially in Madagascar where deforestation and pollution are real problems. In this theme, you learn key words and one important grammar tool: how to give advice with should. (Parler de l'environnement en anglais est très utile, surtout à Madagascar où la déforestation et la pollution sont de vrais problèmes.)
In Antsirabe, Soa says to her brother Hery: "We should plant trees and we shouldn't burn the forest." (Nous devrions planter des arbres et nous ne devrions pas brûler la forêt.) Notice: after should, the verb stays in its base form, with no -s and no to.

- should + verbe (base) = donner un conseil : We should protect nature.
- La forme négative est shouldn't (= should not) : We shouldn't throw plastic in the river.

"Ravo, you shouldn't cut down the trees, but you should recycle your bottles." (Tu ne devrais pas couper les arbres, mais tu devrais recycler tes bouteilles.) On utilise shouldn't pour une action à éviter et should pour une action recommandée.
