Education: talking about the school system (Terminale A)
In Terminale A, you learn to talk about education in English. You must describe your own school system in Madagascar and compare it with English-speaking countries. This topic is very useful for the BACC oral test and for everyday conversations about your studies.
Ravo, a student in Antananarivo, explains: "In Madagascar, primary school lasts five years. After lower secondary school, we sit for the BEPC exam, then we go to upper secondary school and finally we take the Baccalauréat."
À retenir
- Key vocabulary : primary school (école primaire), secondary school (collège/lycée), to sit for / to take an exam (passer un examen), to pass (réussir), to fail (échouer), a grade (une note).
